New Normal 3 - Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate!
Efthymios' participation in "NEW NORMAL 3 / The Ghost in the Machine" group exhibition is provided below. The purpose of the exhibition is to highlight the creative ways in which artists from around the world understand the dystopia of everyday life, whose precise causes are not always comprehensible.

Artist's statement:
"Abandon hope all ye who enter here"
Inspired by the alleged inscription above the gate of hell in Dante Alighieri's "Divine Comedy / Inferno", with the figures of Dante and Beatrice as approximated by Sandro Botticelli's illustrations and the shadow of Auguste Rodin's “The Thinker”.
A small child with a despairing expression points to the centre of a black hole in the middle of nowhere. He almost pinches the singularity lurking in the centre with his little fingers. At the same time, it rests on a beam that extends beyond the composition's boundaries, towards an unspecified cosmic point. It stands high in the absolute void, where the determination of the direction is nothing but a pointless convention. It represents the feelings of the man who is alone, without support and without hope in an unpredictable world, full of enigmatic and shadowy enemies.
